Services and Fees

I offer side-by-side remediation in my Hillsborough office or via tele-practice.

Individual Remediation

Each session is individualized to address the child’s specific needs. Sessions are typically 45 minutes once per week, but may be shorter or longer depending on the child’s needs. Students are given work to do between sessions to practice what they have learned.

Initial Evaluation/ Goal Setting

The fee for the first session includes an assessment, analysis of results, and consultation.  Thus, the fee for the initial session is different than subsequent on-going remediation fees.

The fee for the first session is $200 and includes the following:

  • initial phone and/or email consultations to gather information about your child’s needs
  • one, 45-minute assessment
  • analysis of assessment results
  • goal preparation
  • follow-up phone or email consultation with parents regarding assessment results and plan for remediation.

Additional Services

Comprehensive Language and Literacy Evaluation

A comprehensive assessment includes a variety of language and literacy measures to assess vocabulary, listening comprehension, auditory memory, reading, writing, spelling, and response to intervention. The results are analyzed and included in a written report with recommendations. The assessment takes a total of 2.5-3 hours and is usually administered in two sessions.

The fee for a comprehensive assessment, analysis, and report is $750.

Preschool and Kindergarten Dyslexia Risk Assessment

This assessment is geared for students in preschool or kindergarten to determine whether they have significant ‘red flags’ that indicate the child will likely struggle with learning to read.  The results of this assessment can be used to inform classroom teachers in order to begin in-school remediation early or to structure private remediation.  The assessment includes measures of receptive and expressive language that are early indicators of reading difficulties (rapid naming, word retrieval, phonological awareness, auditory memory, and listening comprehension).  This assessment takes about one hour.

The fee for a dyslexia risk assessment is $250 and includes:

  • initial phone and/or email consultations to gather information about your child’s current situation
  • one, 60-minute assessment
  • analysis of assessment results
  • follow-up phone or email consultation with parents regarding assessment results

Off-Site Observations

Observations in schools or meetings with a child’s teacher are $100 per hour. There is a pro-rated charge for travel time to/from the off-site location.

Fees for Legal Proceedings

If you do become involved in legal proceedings that may require my involvement, you will be expected to pay me for my professional time (including preparation, transportation and communication with attorneys) even if I am called on to testify by another party.  Due to the complexities of legal involvement, I charge $350 per hour for preparation and attendance at any legal proceeding.
